She's going to go crazy when she sees this! - *Day 7*

Sneaky peek into Scarlet's 2nd birthday goodies:
Oh and this too!

Any other theme would have been more for me than her, so I'm embracing it!  You can bet'cher patookies you'll see more as plans take shape.  Happy Wednesday!

Disturbing, isn't it? Digestive Debauchery - *Day 6*

Today, around noon I realized that Scarlet and I were going to have the house to ourselves until about 7pm.  It's so so so rare that I'm ever in this house by myself.  I stopped in my tracks and a Grinch like smile slowly spread across my face as I tried to think of all the wild ways we could spend our unsupervised afternoon.   What kinds of trouble could the Beeble and I get into that would be left unappreciated by Daddy and Nana?  Oh, Oh!  I know!  Loud Disney sing alongs and old man food!  Weeeeeeee! I was giddy at the thought.  Yep, when left to my own devices, my idea of a thrill is to eat like an old kermudgen.  A bit wild eyed, I scooped Scarlet up and danced my way to the kitchen.  On the old man menu?  An entire head of green cabbage sauteed with garlic and smoked sausage.  I call it "Ohmigerd".

Makes ya feel a uncomfortable just looking at it right?  Oh yea, I live on the edge.   Heeh!  I was so pleased with myself.  I feel like this is the kind of food Statler and Waldorf would eat.  Ryan would hate this meal. The thrill was high.  As it steamed and bubbled on the stove and the entire house began to smell like cabbage (bonus sexy points), I blasted this video through the whole house and and sang along.  Let me tell you, not a tune was carried, except maybe wolf crying at the moon part, feel like I nailed that.
Whaddaya expect though?  I'm not going to twitter like a delicate princess when I'm eating like a long haul trucker.  If you haven't seen this video - it's a must watch!  The girl in it was only 15 at the time and made it entirely by herself.

I capped my meal with an oversized wine glass full of unsweetened cranberry juice (perfect right?) and filled my belly.   There was a brief moment where I tried to figure out how I could roast my entire brussel sprout stock and then nom on it like Fred Flintstone but decided to save something for my next wild night of digestive debauchery.
Yesssss, blood red cranberry juice, butcher knife post it's leafy green kill and a disturbing sausage.  While this meal would have put my husband off, I think I did Statler, Waldorf and Hitchcock proud.  ;)

Five Year Flashback - *Day - 5*

Marie, ala 2008, pre-baby, pre-husband, post fresh haircut, out with friends for my birthday dinner at a swanky wine and cheese bar.  These pics are riddled with hints to what my future would hold and I didn't even know it!  Even down to the Dr. Who book I'm holding.  Back then I had no idea who Dr. Who was, I just loved physics books. Now I'm a big ole geeky fangirl for the series.  Even funnier, the friend that gave it to me wasn't a fan either, so I don't think he made the connection when he gave it to me.  Jump forward five years he dressed up as Dr. Who for Halloween.
I gotta go dig up that book!

This is what Ry looked like back in his boyfriend days.  All blue eyes and scruff!  I'd marry that.
It wasn't until I started searching through old pics for this post that I realized there's a Tardis on that book! I also didn't realize that I look like a nekkid girl holding a sci-fi book - oh dear! Ehem, moving on.
Best friend Peter used to always give me a science book for my birthday.   Either that or a my little pony.
Yep, that's Schmeeter.
Two of my best girlfriends and me (see? Clothed, toldja).  Little did I know that they're titles would change to include "Scarlet's God Mother" (the redhead) and "Mama to one of Scarlet's best girlfriends" (the blond).  This pic is before either of those babies were even a twinkle in our eye .
Jeez, this DOES NOT seem like five years ago.  In some ways everything has changed but for the most part I still feel like that very same chick.
Same friends, same hopes... she just has a better haircut than me.  ;)
Ahhhh memories! Thanks for flashing back with me. See you on Tuesday!

Come Along With Us - *Day 4*

2013 must be shakin' in it's boots from the threats posted 3 days ago.
So far it's been on it's best behavior and I'm quite impressed.  Today was awesome. Ry and I were able to set down all deadlines, distractions and dumb stuff and take Scarlet out on the town.  As if the happy family day at the aquarium weren't enough, everything magical happened to us while we were there.  We got to see nearly every exhibit at feeding time. A diver played peek-a-boo with Scarlet. The giant octopus (my favorite) was so fascinated with the Beeble that it followed her around it's tank and they practically danced together.  The adorable sea otters were changing exhibits while theirs was getting cleaned so we got to see them all trot from one aquarium to another aaaaaaaaand one diver even talked to Scarlet over the intercom while he was underwater!  He said he discovered "an adorable bit of pink coral reef running around the aquarium".  As we were leaving we stopped to take a picture with a waterfall and Ryan noticed that a baby sea otter was sleeping right next to us, snuggled up in a ball and sucking on his tail.  Perfect cap on a super day.  Breath of fresh air #1.
You've done well 2013, let's be buds.
I'll let the pictures tell the rest of the story...
Some of you may remember Scarlet standing in this same place when she was 8 months old.
Here's a wee flashback pic.

Petticoat Power! - *Day 3*

Scarlet is a splash in the mud, get back up if you fall down, trucks are cool kinda chick.  She's has yet to swoon over sparkles, bobbles or books like Fancy Nancy and Pinkalicious.  She's never cared what I dress her in, so we haven't really dabbled in the dress-up stuff I've collected for her.  Yesterday I pulled out the stash of tutus that I purchased when I was still pregnant and boy oh boy -  Scarlet was in awe.  Not only did she immediately start asking to "put on! put on!" but once it was on, the "pwintheth" skirt wasn't coming off again.  It went on over her outfit and then again over her pjs at bed time.  Like any obsession, things escalated from there.  It started with her going to each door and telling all occupants of the house "Eyen a pwintheth!" while doing an o-so-dainty (read awkward and nobby) tippy toe princess dance.  By bed time she had two tutus and a tea party goin' on.  I attempted to take them off before I put her in her crib and was met with a Beeble banshee screech that is apparently some sort of parent diverting super power gained whilst wearing the tutu.  I laid my darling, angel-face (newly diva-esque) girl down and let her sleep with the frills. Picked my battle there and that sound wasn't worth the fight, or the heart ache for her.
This is the beginning, of what I'm not sure.  But it's up to Scarlet to use her
petticoat power for good or evil.
PS - How is it that ALL little spunky girls like to pair their tutus with golashes?  Scarlet insisted on trying on her rain boots with every tutu enhanced outfit.

Giggle In The New Year - *Day 2*

Heeeeyyyyyy 2013, how YOU doin? Ya good?  Good, good.  Why don't you and I have a little chat.  Walk with me.  I'm only going to say this once so listen good.  2012 was a rough and I ain't abouts to spend another whole year with a schmucko like that one.  I've got expectations for you, *BIG* expectations and if you don't come through I'll send my goons aftter yeh.  I'm giving you 365 days of my life and in return I want nothing less than your best.  Ya hear?!  I'm watching you *does the two fingers to my eyes and then out thingi*.  I expect big laughs, heart warming moments, many breaths of fresh air and sighs of relief. Sighs of mutha-friggen' relief, ya feel me?!  None of this stressed out, burdens upon weight to bear, pain and suffering, pity party shizz. I aint tryin' to hear that noise.
Saw'right?  Saw'right. *threatening chest bump*

Let's start this year out with a giggle, to kick things off on the right foot.

First, Miss Ray of goofy sunshine herself, Ellen.  In this clip she's cracking up, but it's not over the silly infomercial product she's parodying.  Her stage hand couldn't get the gloves onto her hands in time for the camera to cut back to Ellen and dove off the stage just in time, what you see on her hands is as far as they got with the gloves.  Hi-larious.

Here's the behind the scenes version to see what her and her stage hand were doing while the clip played:

If that didn't get a chuckle out of you, how about this one?

Not an Ellen fan?  Well if this doesn't getcha to crack a smile then you're broken.
It's my all-time-favorite-go-to-make-ya-dance video series on the internet to date. Yes, it's a series, so if you like this one, go  to youtube and watch the others.  :)   Jimmy and Justin surprise the audience mid-interview with an insanely long rap-recap that they execute perfectly.   They've done it three times now and each one is as good as the last.  Enjoy!

The Daily Bean - *Day 1*

Happy New Year!
As promised, I'm here to
blog, vlog or post a captioned picture
every weekday in 2013
Anyone else jumping on this bandwagon?
Most posts will be short and sweet, as is this one.  Aaaand to add to the sweetness of this new beginning, let's have a little group flashback to Beeble's sweet beginning.
Here's the little beaut, 2 weeks old.  Her little head nearly healed at this point due to those super human newborn healing powers.  <3
